Tobacco Fact
Tobacco is classified as a "Class A" carcinogen (a cancer causing agent). There is no safe level of exposure to a Class A carinogen.

SmokeFree Dutchess is working to reduce the risk of tobacco morbidity and mortality by lowering the prevalence of tobacco use in Dutchess County, and by eliminating environmental tobacco smoke in public places. In addition, the partnership advocates on tobacco prevention and control programs, and works with key agencies that administer these programs.

Membership in the partnership is open to those organizations and individuals that support the goals and policies of SmokeFree Dutchess. The partnership reserves the right to deny participation to organizations or individuals who have failed to demonstrate a commitment to the coalition's goals and policies.
